
The Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok
The Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok is the largest open-air museum in Poland.
Museum was founded in 1958. It is one of the largest open-air museums in Europe, it is the first ethnographic museum in Poland in terms of the number of collected objects. The museum presents the culture of the Polish-Ukrainian borderland. There are more than 100 wooden structures from the 17th to the 20th century on the site.
The park has residential and utility buildings and religious buildings: a 17th-century church, two 18th-century Bojkowski churches, a magnificent Lemko church from the beginning of the 19th century and several picturesque chapels. Permanent exhibition of icon painting entitled The Carpathian icon presents over 220 icons (from the 15th to the 20th century).
